What kind of city do you want to live in?

I want a beautiful, life-affirming city with clean air, community gardens, green streets, healthy parks and ravines, and a clean waterfront that we can swim in every day.

We must not treat the environment as somehow distinct from the rest of the city, but rather incorporate it into all aspects of what we do. There are fantastic gains to be made in the areas of transportation and housing, and much to be done in the rest of our city as well.

Whether it’s increasing the tree cover, expanding our green space and urban forest, protecting our water, how we care for our environment has a tremendous impact both on our current quality of life, and for the future city that we leave to our children.
